Remember Remember the 5th of November.
It’s that time of year when we get to put on our gloves, scarfs and hats and venture out into the night to watch the fireworks. But with so many events on around the County it can be difficult to know which one to choose. We have put together a list of local events to help make that decision a little easier.
Bridge Primary School’s PTA has organised a firework display in Brewery Lane on Saturday, November 9. Gates open at 5.30pm. Tickets are £6 for adults, £3 for children and £15 for a family.
Fireworks on the Farm is taking place at Merton Farm on Saturday, November 2. Gates open at 4.30pm, before the bonfire is lighted at 5.30pm, and the fireworks start at 6.30pm. Tickets are £10 for adults, £5.50 for children.
Tyler Hill recreation ground is holding a bonfire and firework display on Saturday, November 2. Gates open at 5.30pm, and the bonfire will be lighted at 7pm, with fireworks at 8pm. Free parking will be available at the university.
A Fireworks Extravaganza is also taking place at the St Lawrence cricket ground on Tuesday, November 5. Hosted by kmfm Breakfast Show presenter Rob Wills, gates will open at 5.30pm with fireworks at 7.15pm. There isn’t any parking available at the cricket ground, but free shuttle buses will run from the New Dover Road park and ride site from 5pm. Tickets are £8 for adults, £4 for children aged two to 14, and £20 for a family.
Benenden Scouts are holding a bonfire and fireworks event at Glebe Field in The Street on Saturday, November 2. Gates open at 6.30pm, with the bonfire lighting at 7.30pm and the fireworks at 8pm. Admission is £5 for adults, £2 for children, free for under 5s.
Hampton School is holding a Halloween Firework Extravaganza on Friday, November 1. Gates open at 5.30pm and the first firework will be launched at 7pm. Tickets are £5.
A spectacular Charity Fireworks Display will take place at Mount Ephraim Gardens on Saturday, November 2. This year’s event will be choreographed to music with the theme of ‘Space’. Gates open at 6pm. Tickets are £12 or free for children under 14.
Fire! is the theme of this year’s Firework Spectacular at Leeds Castle near Maidstone. Visitors will be able to watch related images projected on to the castle and listen to a specially themed soundtrack of music, while a breathtaking display of fireworks is let off overhead. Gates open at 2pm, and the display starts at 5.30pm, on Saturday, November 9 and Sunday, November 10. There will also be afternoon entertainment and a wide range of refreshments available. Tickets are £18.50 for adults, £12 for children under 16, free for under fours. They must be pre-booked, by calling 01622 880008 or visiting www.leeds-castle.com
