Although we know that we may be jumping the gun and yes we know it’s only November but being organised for Christmas isn’t such a bad thing is it?
December is one of the busiest months for a lot of people, whether it is trying to fit in family visits, attending Christmas parties, doing the Christmas shopping or taking the Kids to see Santa. But we all want to do some fun stuff too, so we have created a list of local Christmas events that will get you in the festive spirit.
The Gulbenkian cinema is showing a range of Christmas movies throughout December, starting with the much loved Christmas comedy ELF, staring Will Ferrell, on Monday the 2nd of December at 8:30pm. Tickets are £7.50, Consessions £6.50 and Students £4.50

What’s the best way to combine wild animals and Christmas? Well the answer to this is easy! Throughout December Howletts wild Animal Park are giving Kids the chance to meet Santa in his enchanted grotto. Santa will be merrily greeting families and giving away special Christmas gifts to children in his new grotto at the Jurassic Mine Gift shop.
Tickets are £5 for children and accompanying Adults go in for free. Each child will also receive a special gift.

There is nothing more traditional than carol singing and where better to do it than in the magnificent Canterbury Cathedral. During December Canterbury Cathedral are hosting a selection of different carol services staring with the Princess of Wales Royal Regiment fundraising carol service on December the 4th. Doors open at 7pm with the main Service starting at 7:30pm.

With christmas comes Panto and this year the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury will be home to Jack and the Beanstalk. Don’t miss this year’s spectacular family pantomime, starring Samantha Womack (EastEnders), children’s favourite Phil Gallagher (CBeebies’ Mister Maker) and, back by popular demand, the much-loved Marlowe favourites, Ben Roddy and Lloyd Hollett.Last year’s production of Sleeping Beauty was seen by 84,000 people, so make sure you book early to see this giant of a pantomime. Shows start on the 29th of November and go all the way till January the 12th. Ticket prices vary.

On the 22nd of December the Coca Cola Christmas truck will be at the Whitefriars shopping centre in Canterbury, where you’ll be able to have your picture taken next to it. Christmas helpers will be serving chilled drinks while you get in the festive spirit with the Christmas tunes.
