We thought it would be helpful to answer some commonly asked questions here. We will add to this list from time-to- time. If you have any further questions, please get in touch.
Q. Why do you charge for waiting time?
A. In order to make sure you get your car on time, we are giving other callers a longer response time. This response time is based on you getting straight in the car and leaving. We understand that things don’t always go to plan, and so we build in some flexibility and can generally allow you to keep a driver waiting. However, we do have to charge you for it! The charge represents the drivers time, the cost of the vehicle and our missed opportunity to drive other customers in that time.
Q. What’s the deal with the monkey?
A. Pickles the Monkey is our mascot. If you find him in your cab, the ride is free! It’s as simple as that… Remember though, Pickles only appears to registered customers. You can register as a customer here.
Q. I booked a return journey with you, and the price was slightly different on the way back. What happened?
A. Our prices are calculated by the mileage the car travels. Sometimes the journey has to take a different route due to traffic restrictions, one-way systems etc. This accounts for most differences. You may also have kept the driver waiting, or booked a different vehicle type (Eg: MPV or Car) which would affect the price. If you think the price has been calculated incorrectly, please ask the driver for the booking number and call us on 01227 710777. We can investigate and resolve any issues for you.
Q. What is an ‘Out of Town Charge’ and how is it calculated?
A. Sometimes we have to drive out of our main operating area to collect you, to only take you a short distance. We don’t mind doing this, but if the journey is shorter than the distance away from the area, we’ll charge you as if the journey started at the edge of our operating area. We can provide an exact quote at the time of booking, so you’ll know if you want to go ahead.
